Hey everyone,

The 1.21 update went really well — the server is now fully updated and stable. You can hop on with the latest version of Minecraft and everything runs just fine.

Also, some big news: 2b2t.es and the world are now officially 5 years old! 🎉 That’s half a decade of pure anarchy, survival, and history built by the community.

That being said, development on 2b2t.es is going to slow down indefinitely. We’ll still be keeping the server online, but future updates will mainly focus on:

  • Fixing security issues
  • Patching game-breaking bugs (like crashes)
  • Keeping ViaVersion up-to-date so newer clients can still join

Basically, the server will stay maintained but won’t be getting new features or major developer work for now.

A couple more things to note:

  • Password reset payments will be disabled soon
  • Donations will only go toward server costs (keeping it online)

Even though development is slowing down, the server isn’t going anywhere. Thanks to everyone who’s supported 2b2t.es over the years — here’s to 5 years of history and however many more to come.
